There seem to be more divergences on the left mode of pan, and the right mode of tau. I also see a non-linear boundary between the (ecc, tau), (tau, sma) where divergences occur. You might think about looking into those?
For the prior check, I meant to generate prior predictive samples – fake data under your priors – to check if the data your priors generate are scientifically plausible.
