Even in the case you had, shouldnt the mixing fraction be more accurate to 0.5? I am a bit confused how this is not identifiable given that background rate cannot possibly generate observed counts at the fractions predicted.
I guess also, if you look at estimated fractions, can you confirm they are still wrong?
Last question, can you comment on the logic of having both sample_types improving identifiablity? Does that seem right or wrong.
