I have checked some previous study on my field. I have found most studies followed Normal likelihood with Normal-gamma prior. However, in the examples, I have seen the normal-halfnormal prior. So, i got little confused about it. I am also confused about assuming the parameters of normal-gamma prior (specifically alpha and beta). Would you kindly advise in this matter? Your responses will be highly appreciated.
