Interested in GSoC in the summer of 2018 with PyMC3

Hello everyone, I am Vaibhav Dixit a sophomore pursuing Mathematics and Computing from Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi(India) and found PyMC3 quite interesting and wanted to know what kind of prerequisites would be required if I was interested in GSoC with PyMC3 in the summer of 2018. Bayesian Statistics is among my favorite topics, that is the primary reason I felt interested in working with PyMC3. I have also been involved in Machine Learning though I am still a beginner. Any help and advice on how to move forward will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Vaibhav,
That’s great! I think as the first step you should try to get familiar with the PyMC3 code base (go through the example, fit a few simple model etc), and then try to fix a few beginner friendly Github issues.
We are discussing internally what project we can propose for GSoC 2018. We will anounce here on Discourse shorty.

Thanks for the advice. I’ll keep an eye out for the projects.
