New Contributor to PyMC Community

Hello everyone!

My name is Subhra Jyoti Das, a second-year engineering student at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee). I have a strong interest in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning, and I’ve been diving deeper into probabilistic modeling and Bayesian methods.

Currently, I’m working on a project involving Statistical Analysis of Physical Systems using Monte Carlo and MCMC methods with the help of Python, which has further fueled my curiosity about robust probabilistic frameworks. This hands-on experience has drawn me toward tools like PyMC, and I’m keen to explore how it can be applied to complex modeling tasks.

I’d love to start contributing—whether through improving documentation, fixing beginner-friendly issues, or helping with example notebooks.

I’d appreciate any guidance on where to begin or any issues that would be suitable for someone new to the PyMC community.

Looking forward to learning and contributing alongside all of you!

Best,
Subhra Jyoti Das
