Hello PyMC Community,

I am Sundara Bhanu Karthikeya Vakkalanka, a third-year Computer Science and Engineering student at Aditya College of Engineering and Technology. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to PyMC through Google Summer of Code 2025. My primary interest lies in the “Spatial Modeling” project, as I have a strong background in Python and a keen interest in Bayesian statistical modeling.

I have reviewed the project details and am eager to learn more about the specific expectations and how I can best prepare my application. Could you please guide me on the next steps and how I might get in touch with potential mentors for this project?

Thanks for sending this; I’ve shared it with Bill Engels, the other mentor.

It would benefit from a bit more background and detail on how your implementation would fit in with PyMC, esp. with regard to the API. Whatever you can do prior to the deadline would be great, but do not wait on our review to submit.

I’ve submitted my final proposal, incorporating your suggestions — I’ve expanded the background context and detailed how my implementation integrates with PyMC, especially regarding the API design and usability. I’m also continuing to explore the codebase and contribute by solving issues, and I’m really looking forward to the possibility of joining the team.
